wait, i'm confused. so is it 25% for digital downloads from CDBaby and 9% for tracks sold through vendors like CDBaby? or are they gonna take 25% from CDBaby digital downloads AND distribution?

The way I understand it, 25% is downloads from CDBaby & it's still 9% of revenues from iTunes & others.
ReplyDeleteThe comment just above mine is accurate, to the best of my understanding. I tried to update my post to reflect that without going into a tangent about their various rates, which wasn't really the point.
ReplyDeleteThanks for including my writing in this dialog. As I said in my post, I don't think CDBaby necessarily has an bad intent, but I think they've transformed from "good guy" to "necessary evil" - just like most of the other players in music distribution.
